Billing and credits
Refund policy
What happens when a generation fails, you cancel a plan, or a charge does not look right.
Updated 31 October 2026
At a glance
A returned credit is different from a payment refund. If a generation fails after a credit is used, Colorlime is designed to return the eligible credit to your balance. A refund of a subscription charge is a separate request.
A purchase is not eligible for a discretionary refund after more than four credits from that purchase have been used. Applicable consumer rights and remedies for billing errors still apply. You can cancel a paid plan to stop future renewals.
Failed generations and credits
When a generation job fails after a credit has been charged, the service attempts to return that credit automatically. This includes jobs that fail in processing and eligible batch jobs that do not complete. You can check your credit activity in your account.
A completed generation generally uses its credit, even if you later delete the image or decide not to use it. If a failed job did not return its credit, send us the account email, job or batch reference if available, and an explanation so we can investigate.
We do not promise a fixed time for a credit to appear after a failure. If the balance does not update, please contact support.
Subscription payments
Subscriptions are billed for the plan and cycle shown at checkout. Canceling a plan stops future renewals when the cancellation is successfully processed; it does not automatically reverse a payment already made.
You may request a discretionary refund for a subscription payment if you have used no more than four credits from that purchase on successfully completed generations. Credits returned for failed generations do not count. Credits that roll over, including monthly allocations from an annual purchase, count against the original purchase. Deleting a completed image does not reverse its credit use. Using more than four credits makes that purchase ineligible for a discretionary refund. This limit does not restrict remedies for billing errors or rights under applicable law. Eligible consumers may also have a right to withdraw from a purchase; the conditions and time limits depend on their location and the nature of the purchase.
Canceling a plan
You can request cancellation through the subscription management options provided with your purchase. When the request succeeds, the account should show that the plan is set to end at the close of the current billing period. Paid access normally continues until that date. A refund may end access earlier, subject to the terms of your purchase and applicable law.
If the cancellation control fails or you are unsure whether it completed, contact us promptly. Save any confirmation you receive so we can investigate a later charge. Credit rollover and expiry still follow the rules of your plan.
Billing errors
If you see a duplicate charge, an unexpected amount, or a charge after a confirmed cancellation, let us know as soon as you can. Include the charge date and amount, but do not email a full payment card number.
Contact us about the charge so we can help investigate. If a refund is approved, the time for funds to appear depends on the payment method and payment provider.
Request a refund
For a payment refund, withdrawal, or generation credit issue, email support@colorlime.com from your ColorLime account email and include the transaction date and amount or job reference, and what went wrong. Do not email a full payment card number.
We may ask for more details to locate the relevant transaction or job. If your location gives you a statutory right to a remedy or withdrawal, that right still applies.
